The basics
SIP Trunking, explained.
A SIP trunk is a virtual voice connection that carries calls between your phone system (an IP-PBX, session border controller or UC platform) and the public telephone network over IP, replacing physical ISDN or PRI lines. Aircom's trunks flex their channels up and down on demand, and numbers are typically live the same day.
Wholesale vs retail SIP trunking
Retail SIP trunks are sold to a single business at a fixed channel count. Wholesale SIP trunking gives carriers and resellers elastic capacity, per-trunk routing control and usage-based commercials they can build their own products on top of.
What it does
Standards-based trunks that scale on demand.
Elastic SIP trunks for any IP-PBX or UC platform, with same-day DID provisioning and concurrency that flexes with you.
Elastic concurrency
Add or shed channels instantly, pay for the capacity you use, burst when campaigns spike.
Works with any platform
Standards-compliant SIP for Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, 3CX, Cisco, Avaya, Teams Direct Routing via a certified SBC, and more.
Geo-redundant registration
Geo-redundant points of presence with automatic re-registration so a single failure never drops your service.
Secure by default
IP authentication or digest, optional TLS/SRTP encryption, and per-trunk spend and fraud controls.

Yes. SIP trunking is the standard replacement for legacy ISDN and PRI, which UK operators are retiring as part of the PSTN switch-off. It runs over your existing internet connection or a private link and works with any standards-compliant PBX.
Our trunks are standards-based and work with Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, 3CX, Cisco, Avaya, Microsoft Teams Direct Routing (via a certified SBC) and any standards-compliant IP-PBX, SBC or UC platform.
